  Our MISSION and PURPOSE 

    Hope for the Children of the Street  is a small but growing international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in working with the poor, oppressed, suffering Street Children and all abandoned children.  We promote their human transformation, seek justice for and bear witness to them about the Good News of the Kingdom of God . We accomplish this by rescuing them from the street and providing a safe Christian refuge where they can grow and learn.  We also try to initiate community programs that help to protect and safeguard all children.  As Christians we feel obligated and privileged to help the Kingdom of God grow by planting new churches in the communities were our Street Children facilities are located.

WELCOME to HCS   

  Penny and I would like to welcome you to the HCS web site. We hope you find it interesting and enjoy your time spent here.

  Trying to keep this site current and up to date is a real "labor of love" for me. I have tried to keep it easy to navigate, and to the point. I fear I may have failed in part of this, telling about our work is sometimes hard to do in the few words needed for busy people such as yourself.

   Most importantly, our Lord Jesus, has been very good to us.  We Hope this site will bring Glory to our God,  Lord and Savior. This ministry with the street children, is His ministry, not ours, and we are amazed to be of a small service to Him.

   We are Christians first, and Southern Baptist by faith. If you are trying to find out if God could use you , please be encouraged. We are just ordinary people, like you, who have found the desires of our hearts. When God saved me in 1985 and called Penny back to Himself, little did we know we would one day become missionaries. All we wanted, was to  learn to love our Lord and Savior. 

   This is how He  started with us, His spirit started pouring into us, as we allowed His gentle love and guidance into our lives, we found that much needed to be changed, cleaned. As it flowed through every area of our lives we began to see that He would use us if we were willing. As we answered and adjusted our lives to His call in everyday matters, we found that we became willing  to trust Him more. Years passed and we were blessed over and over as we joined with Him where he was working around us. Yes He did call us and yes we answered, but there was almost 10 years of preparation, and of ministry before we were ready to come to Brazil in His service. 

 And so fellow Christian and visitors,be encouraged, with Hope, Faith, and Love. God is real, He does have a plan for you. It is a plan that will fulfill your every  hearts desire.
It is a good plan.
